The farm has been neglected lately. It wasn’t because I wanted to. I hesitated to trust other tractors besides EFX to operate on my farm. The NURP tractors started strong last year but had their own issues. Now, both are coming out with new tractors with some interesting features. What do I do?
At a glance, both of the bots/tractors that will trade on US Brokers look similar. I didn’t open the hood up too far. If I did, the bulleted-pointed brochures would use words like “machine-learning” and “heavy drawdown averse.” When I got to the bottom of both brochures, I would have realized the price difference.
When you buy from NURP, you will purchase all the tractor(s) you need. (Only one of each type of tractor.) The first tractor is costly. You pay the monthly lease rate when you want to add another tractor model. (This is discounting the money you place into your investment account.)
With EFX, they have two tractors. One tractor has to go internationally (needs 1:200 or more leverage) to work. (All but the newest NURP bot has the same rules.) Then, they have a new tractor that can be used domestically. (Forex.com offers 1:100 leverage. This seems to be the US broker of choice.) Both of their tractors are sold separately. If purchased separately, the individual tractors are less expensive than the NURP “one-of-everything” program. But, if you want to buy both of EFX’s tractors, it gets pricey. EFX also has a monthly lease/subscription fee, BUT it is less expensive than the fees charged by NURP.
So, what do I do? I don’t want to buy a new tractor. I want to test out one of the US Broker tractors without purchasing a new tractor. I am content to “lease” the tractor for a few months. It may not be the best tractor, but I am sure it is a pretty good one. With the cost savings of the NURP tractor, I can’t justify buying a tractor from a different manufacturer. If I don’t like the tractor I picked, I can say, “No, thank you” in a few months.
If I hadn’t bought into the NURP leasing plan and had no interest in doing so, I would buy the EFX tractor. Their other tractor(Octane) is a good performer. I am confident the new one will be too. If my new NURP tractor has sub-par performance, I may get the EFX tractor for that field (investment account) down the road.
