This was the first bot I purchased. This happened back in October of 2023. I didn’t trust it with much money right away. It had a couple of wrinkles, but I was learning things, too.
After moving the Octane bot to a new account in January of 2024, I started giving it additional funds to work with. It did fine until the USDCHF trades dug a very deep hole. I trusted the bot to navigate the drawdown that ensued. Unfortunately, this bot cannot manage trades if the MT4 is disrupted. When my MT4 (trading bots run as EXPERTS within this program) was adversely affected, I lost all of the Octane bots gains plus principle.
As I write this, I am no longer using this bot. There is talk of design changes to address the “managing” issue. If the next version fixes this issue, I would be happy to use the Octane bot again.
After the problems with The Fed in late July, the only bot I was running was Dalio. While my desire was to wait until Octane was able to manage trades after a reboot, its ability to manage drawdowns brought me back.
