My Golden Bot

It was only a couple of days ago I reported on my new bot, the Precision. If you examine the graphic, you will see why I am so pleased.

In the graphic, I have taken a snapshot of my trading tool (MT4), showing its most recent trades. The profit is the number on the bottom left. ($1,473.15) The middle number is the starting amount in the brokerage account. ($14,440) Finally, the number on the bottom, far right is the present account balance. ($15,917.15)

I may be questioned why the profit in the “Precision” link doesn’t match the number on the graphic. Depending on when you make the comparison, this could just be a delay in the updating. Either way, it is a good profit for just a week. Yes, over 10% in just a week!!

Why I really like this bot so far:

  • It knows what it does, and it does it well. With standard setup, it doesn’t trade Gold when the US market is open. (With Forex, trading is from Sunday 5:00 PM EST to Friday 5:00 PM EST) The bot-provider recommends NOT trading during this time because things are too volatile. Based on what I am seeing so far, they know a couple of things.
  • My EFX Octane bot is caught in drawdown. While one of the algorithms within the bot keeps the bot from digging too deep of a financial hole, it is also preventing it from exploring other possible trades. My monthly income off of this bot is still at almost 2%. Will it reach last months levels? Maybe… If it continues at this pace, the Precision bot will allow the EFX bot to get the USDCHF issue sorted out without the EFX Octane bot feeling the pressure. 😉
  • When I bought the Precision bot, I also bought one of its siblings. I did get a slight discount for buying both bots. Without giving away the exact price spent on the bot (You never know when they will have a price increase.), the bot could easily pay for itself yet this month. The Gold market could change and there could certainly be losses. I understand the risk.
  • As much as I wish all of my bots were consistently making a minimum percentage every month, I love how my “bot farm” doesn’t have to depend on every algo trading bot having its “BEST” month for me to believe I will meet my monthly goals. (Since I hit $9,000 last month, that is my monthly goal until the bots convince me a higher goal is justified.)
  • I have my Precision bot set up on “high moderate” risk. It isn’t even setup on “aggressive”, and it is still having good results. As I have grown more confident with it, I have adjusted the settings up slightly.
  • Finally, the Precision bot has no monthly fees. My two Nurp bots have a monthly fee of $300ish per month. The EFX bot has a fee based on the size of the account. Right now, my monthly fee is right at $100. So, when a bot doesn’t have a fee, this is not inconsequential. I am spending nearly $700/month to keep 60% of my bots viable.

In an upcoming post, I will give my recommendations for someone wanted to get started with algo trading bots. If you can’t wait, please comment or reach out.
