Picking The Crypto Gurus Brain

I wrote earlier about the liquidity pool being dry. After meeting with my guru, I have a little more clarity on how to handle the liquidity pools. Fortunately, the pool may not be as dry as I thought.

These are my present crypto holdings. Each of them has some flaws, but I have reason for optimism.

The guru said to wait a little bit before making any changes to any of my positions. I don’t like the amount of RED in the Profit & Loss column. Yet, since he said to stay optimistic, I will.

  1. MAGIC/ETH
    • Because Ethereum has gone down significantly the past day, the loss is big. When Ethereum turns around, this loss will mostly evaporate.
    • The APR has dropped from the 200% I was hoping for. If it continues to stay above 100%, it is a keeper…sort of.
    • The position is still right in the middle of the range. I set the range well. (Or, I chose to accept the default range I was offered.)
    • My concern is with this NOT being a blue chip crypto. (I will show how to determine this in a later post.) Ideally, I want to choose cryptoassets in the top 100. MAGIC ranks above #350. I will likely get out of this position, if possible, when there is less RED. (A smaller loss or none at all.)
  2. PENDLE/USDT
    • This position is no longer making any earnings. It is completely out of range. My immediate response was to transfer the crypto to a new position and close this position. If I do this, I have no way to recover the present loss.
    • I thought the guru would suggest “rebalancing.” This would also prevent me from recovering the present losses. Unless I can find a position within the next week that can assure me I can recoup this loss (I won’t), I will just hold fast.
    • I have an appointment scheduled with the guru again next week. If this position makes no earnings between now and then, we will discuss the options.
  3. POL/USDC
    • As I have previously described, this position was set up for me to attempt bridging. The position exists, so the guru was able to asses my “growth”. I may not have overly wowed, but I am improving.
    • This position is near the bottom of my range. The hope is it will “bounce” off the bottom range rather than diving below.
    • If this position survives the next 4 days and meets expectations, I may add more crypto to the position.

I like the accountability and guidance of having a guru. I would have preferred it were free, but then I would have ignored the emails like all of the other “free” programs that want me to participate.
