Rain Check On The Sleepless Night

I got another email from NURP again yesterday morning. The email was informing the recipients that their bots were wrestling with a couple of forex pairs that were not wanting to be tamed. (e.g. The bots were continuing to take larger and larger positions on forex pairs that were going the wrong direction.) I felt bad for those involved, but relieved.

For the past two months, I have been NURP-less. When I was a NURP fan, the bots were playing in a market where the rules were more predictable. The present rules don’t care about predictability. Many forex pairs rather flaunt the rules than obey them. The new rules (or in the case of some NURP bots) would like to see forex trading account “martingaled” into oblivion. In NURPs defense, they have modified recommendations of their bots. I applaud them for this. But, when they need to change the recommendations even further after the next “black swan” event, the question is, “Is it really a black swan or does the bot need rejiggered?”

Fortunately for me, a trading bot can’t lose your money if you aren’t using it. It is for this reason I am grateful to myself for restarting my Octane bot. You may not have a killer month, but you aren’t likely to get killed that month either.

My Octane results since restarting the bot in late July.
