Welcome to Day 5—the moment your inner adult walks in, looks at your farms, looks at your fees, and says,
“Okay… is this actually working, or am I just emotionally attached to these charts?”
By now you’ve built a couple of farms, collected rewards, and felt at least one brief moment of unearned confidence. Today we focus on two things:
- Is your LP strategy truly pulling its weight?
- What do you do next—keep farming, simplify, or promote your profits to something calmer?
Let’s wrap this up like responsible farmers.
Step 1: Decide if Your Farm Is Actually Earning Its Keep
Before celebrating, evaluate performance using grown-up math, not “number go up” feelings.
Ask yourself:
- How did my LP + farm returns compare to simply holding the same tokens?
- Did gas fees, bridging, or fiddling around eat most of my profit?
- Did this strategy reward me… or did it mostly reward the person who designed the interface?
If the extra effort added just 1–2% while consuming half your evenings, it fails the “refuse to babysit” test.
You don’t need spreadsheets—just an honest sense of whether the fees and incentives were worth the extra risk and tinkering.
Step 2: Have Clear Exit Rules (Before Things Get Weird)
A good LP doesn’t wait for the pool to start sending emotional text messages.
Set simple exit criteria, like:
- APY drops below something you could earn from plain staking or lending
- TVL collapses or volume dries up
- The team hasn’t communicated since the last leap year
- The pair now contains a token you only keep out of guilt
And when it’s time to go:
- Unstake your LP tokens from the farm
- Go to Remove Liquidity in Krystal or your DEX
- Redeem your LP tokens for your two original assets
- Exhale
Clean, simple, drama-free.
Step 3: Turn Busy Yield Into Sleepy Yield
Your hard-earned rewards don’t have to be recycled into the same pool forever.
Promotion paths for your “retired” farm profits:
✓ Staking
Delegate or stake your favorite tokens and earn protocol rewards
— fewer buttons, fewer surprises, fewer headaches.
✓ Lending
Supply assets in a reputable lending market for modest, predictable yield.
✓ Blue-Chip Consolidation
Roll rewards into BTC, ETH, or other long-term positions and step away from the spicy stuff.
This is how you graduate from running three side hustles to owning one extremely boring rental property you barely think about.
Step 4: Explore Non-LP Ways to Earn Crypto Income
If your tolerance for LP mood swings has dropped faster than a rogue meme token, don’t worry—DeFi is bigger than just pools.
Options include:
- RWA (real-world asset) yield platforms
- Crypto “savings account” products with fixed or variable APR
- Automated vaults that handle all the LP/farming complexity for you
- Index-style strategies that give exposure without constant maintenance
None of these are magic. All have risk.
But many are far easier to monitor than a multi-chain farm zoo.
Step 5: Wrap Your 5-Day Strategy Into a Personal Playbook
After completing this series, you should now have:
- ✔ One wallet you trust
- ✔ One chain you actually understand
- ✔ One or two basic LP positions
- ✔ Matching farms that don’t drain your sanity
- ✔ A simple process for evaluating performance
- ✔ Clear exit rules
- ✔ A way to “promote” yield into calmer, long-term crypto exposure
From here, you can:
- Scale up
- Try new farm types
- Explore other DeFi income
- Or simply decide,
“Two farms and a boring stack of long-term holdings is enough.”
Whatever path you choose, your wallet should now be working harder than you do.
This is the end of the course—but the beginning of your calmer, smarter DeFi life.
