After today’s meeting with my crypto guru (he of fancy charts and mysterious metaphors), I decided to try something new. I’m tossing almost all my extra Ethereum into a fresh yield farm. Will this be my victory lap or a cautionary meme? Time will tell! Here’s why I think yield farming beats just HODLing and hoping.
Why I Decided to Farm Instead of Chill
Ranging:
Ethereum has been going sideways for 18 days—long enough to make me dizzy. Just holding ETH means riding all the ups and downs with zero yield to show for it. By farming, I get the usual profit when ETH finally moves—and snag extra yield on top of that. With a wide enough range, I shouldn’t have to babysit my farm much. Fingers crossed.
Eyeing the Peak:
Every crypto “expert,” including my guru, swears ETH is headed for $6,000 soon. So I’m thinking: why not set my farm so the top of the range is right at $6,000? The guru claims there are some Yieldzillas (his word, not mine) grabbing over 60% APR with this setup. I say: if the Zillas can do it… why can’t I?
Bottom Feeding (The Smart Kind):
My other farm bottoms out at $3,800. If I waited for ETH to drop that low, I’d be twiddling my thumbs for ages. Starting a new farm with an entry closer to the bottom lets me load up on WETH—meaning I get more profit as that WETH “travels” from the low end up to the top of the range. More distance, more gains. It’s like cheering for your coin in a weird, digital marathon.
The Plan for Rolling Profits
If my smaller farm ever climbs above its top range, I’ll just close out and roll everything into the main farm. The little guy can live as long as possible, pulling in a higher APR thanks to its narrow range. When it hits the ceiling—bam! Harvest, then reinvest. I call that “absorbing the farm.” (It’s not as ominous as it sounds.)
Meanwhile, my other positions are perfect for testing out new ideas. Once ETH peaks (if my crystal ball is right), I’ll want a safe spot for my coins when the crypto bears come looking for honey—or just chaos.
A Peek at My Side Hustles:
- PENDLE/USDC: Going strong so far, but PENDLE is only top 100—not top 30—so I’m watching it like a hawk. Risks = higher, but potential rewards could be spicy.
- WETH/LINK: No dollar-pegged token here! This farm is a battle between WETH and LINK. The range action depends on how many LINK it takes to match a WETH. It’s like a crypto version of arm wrestling. Winner gets the yield.
Bottom line: Farming gives me more reasons to enjoy the sideways drama. I’m not just a spectator—I’m stacking yield through the chaos. Will this plan print memes or profits? Stay tuned!
