Trying to Wing It Until Friday
Crypto markets are like a rollercoaster you didn’t strap into properly. I thought I could coast through the weekend without making any big moves, but the market had other plans. SOL/USDC started running, and suddenly I had to jump in and adjust my position.
Riding the SOL/USDC Wave
Here’s the deal: my original SOL/USDC position topped out at $184. I was hoping SOL’s price would pull back so I could add to it over the weekend. Spoiler alert—it didn’t. Instead of sulking, I had to set up a new range to keep earning yield.
- New Range: I bumped the top end up to $202. Why $202? Well, breaking that nice round number of $200 might slow SOL down psychologically (or so I tell myself).
- Bigger Position: I also increased my position size. With the bull market pushing upward, I figured, “Why not?”
- What I’m Second-Guessing: Should I have given myself more wiggle room on the right side of the range? SOL is moving so fast, I’m wondering if I underestimated its speed. Live and learn.
Fartcoin: Yield or Just Hot Air?
Ah, Fartcoin/SOL—the meme coin that sounds like it belongs on a middle school lunchroom menu. Right now, I’m still “interviewing” this position, meaning I haven’t fully committed.
- The Pros: Fartcoin’s yield is tempting, no doubt.
- The Cons: It’s a meme coin. It’s somewhere in the bottom half of the top 100 crypto assets, and its value seems to rest entirely on its corny name. If its followers wake up one day and realize that, the bottom could drop out faster than I can say, “Why did I do this?”
- Guru’s Advice: The crypto guru I paid good money for says, “Stick with top 30 coins.” (He does allow for investment in other coins, but with yield earnings NOT other funds.) So, while I’m tempted to add to the position, I’m also hesitant to stray too far from the advice that’s helping me rebuild my confidence after earlier mistakes.
Confidence: Slowly Growing, but Not Without Doubts
I’ll admit it—I’m not ready to manage this bull market solo. My confidence is improving, but it’s not growing fast enough to ride the bull without some guidance. Managing crypto positions feels a lot like bull riding: thrilling, nerve-wracking, and requiring skills you don’t develop overnight.
For now, I’m holding on tight, adjusting ranges when I need to, and keeping my eyes on Friday’s meeting with the guru. Hopefully, by then, I’ll have a clearer plan—and fewer questions about meme coins.
Final Thought: The Bull Will Keep Running
This bull market isn’t waiting for anyone, and neither is SOL. Whether I chose the right ranges or got a little overconfident with Fartcoin, one thing’s for sure: I’m learning. And if I fall off the bull? Well, at least I’ll have a story to tell.
