My Odyssey FIFO bot seems to have developed a flair for the dramatic—or maybe it just has a death wish. Sure, I get it, the markets are working against it, but I was kind of hoping the “super brainy AI” part of its DNA would turn it into Fred Astaire, gracefully gliding through any market conditions. For a moment, it looked like Odyssey was starting to learn the choreography. And then March hit.
Now it’s stumbling around the dance floor like it forgot its left foot from its right. Meanwhile, my Octane bot has been freestyling just fine. It doesn’t hit every move perfectly, but hey, at least it’s not stuck following as many rigid rules as Odyssey.
The $400 Question
Here’s the deal: Odyssey’s monthly fee is $400. And I’ve been threatening to pull the plug if it can’t at least cover that cost. But at some point, my empty threats will have to turn into action. If Odyssey doesn’t start paying for its own dance lessons soon, I’ll have no choice but to show it the door.
NURP’s “We Care” Email
Today, I got an email from NURP. After last year’s bot blowups, they’ve been more proactive about reaching out to their customers. It’s a nice touch, I’ll admit—it’s like the bot equivalent of a teacher checking in on a struggling student.
Does it make watching my principal dive into the red any easier? No. But it does at least feel like they care about maintaining the trust we’ve placed in their products. I only hope Odyssey can pull itself together before my patience and account balance both run out.
