After watching Octane battle the GBPUSD pair for a couple of weeks, I was curious what the next step would be. I was grateful to see the bot place several hedge bets that allowed the monthly profits to be above 3%. But, the problem continued. Hedge bets are not going to solve the problem when the forex pair keeps going the wrong direction. This morning, EFX sent out an email to prepare users for what their bots would show. We’ve seen a lot of messages lately, so we want to explain what happened with the recent trades.

Last night, the bot closed some losing trades to lower the risk. These trades, mostly in GBP/USD, caused about a 4-5% loss. However, after including the hedge trades that also closed, the overall loss will likely be around 1-2%.

Even with this small loss, most clients are still making money for the month.

Trading isn’t always smooth sailing. Sometimes, even the best systems or traders have bad days, weeks, or even months—especially during unpredictable events like the election, which makes markets extra bumpy right now.

It’s important to know that losses are normal in trading. Nobody can win all the time. What matters is how we handle these moments, and our system is built to adjust and stay on track for long-term success.

We also ask for your understanding about messages. Sending tons of questions about short-term losses isn’t helpful. It’s like trying to look over a chef’s shoulder while they cook—it doesn’t make things better. Trust the system you’ve chosen, just as you would trust an expert to do their job.

Our support team is here to help with technical problems. But when they’re flooded with questions about short-term results, it slows things down for clients who need real help.
