Crypto Mastermind – Second Meeting

I had higher hopes for this meeting. It wasn’t the fault of my guide. He went above and beyond to try and have some success, but the calendar was against us.

  1. It was pretty easy to buy Ethereum on Kraken. My guide navigated to all of the right places. He had me take control of the mouse when it was time to click on the “Confirm” button.
  2. The first goal was to do a test withdrawal into my Metamask wallet. Because Kraken holds onto all deposits for a week before you have an ability to do a crypto transfer, I had this added to my “to do” list. Purchasing the Ethereum was not a problem at all. Moving the Ethereum was the problem.
  3. Through a variety of sources (i.e. my Cash app and various online involvement), I had some Ethereum at Crypto.com. I had attempted to do this on my own, but I was having trouble adding the wallet. Once the wallet was added, I was told by the app I had to wait 24 hours to complete the transfer to my Metamask wallet.

That was ALL that was accomplished. I did have homework prior to our meeting on Monday.

  1. Set up our next meeting: This proved much more difficult than expected. The Calendly link was no longer working. My “orientation” link didn’t like we anymore. Once I reached out to the Facebook group admin, I was able to get what was necessary to get the Monday meeting scheduled.
  2. I need to complete the test transfer.
    • My guide and I are pretty sure this will work fine. He is just making sure I get it. After trying to get to do the transfer numerous times, I am guessing/hoping it will work smoothly once a full 7 calendar days have elapsed.
    • After trying a few times to do the test transfer, I took the “contact support” warning seriously. To do this, I had to download the Kraken app, and start a chat. After being promoted past the AI bot, I believe I was routed to a live person. I am hoping they get back to me and clear up any remaining problems.
    • Buying crypto costs money. Transferring to a wallet cost money. I am trusting I will make some money somewhere along this journey!
  3. My previous deposit to Kraken was an ACH. I made an additional deposit using a wire. As I write this, the deposit shows as “pending.” It has been nearly 24 hours. I am told the 7-day hold is waved with a wire. I hope this is the case.
  4. After completing my Coinbase verification, I set up a wire to Coinbase. It went very smoothly. I did it after the Kraken wire, but it posted more quickly. Unfortunately, Coinbase charges $10 (or is it 1%?) for the privilege of accepting your money.
  5. Crypto transfer to my wallet: This should have gone smoother. Somehow, I wasn’t capable of providing a 6-digit code into the Crypto app from my phone. After I set up Crypto to work off of face recognition, the Ethereum transferred. I failed to realized I could raise the $100 default amount, so I had to do multiple transfers. I am learning…
