The Sky Is Falling

Not only is my bot provider worried about the US elections, but my broker is, too. Because my EFX Octane bot takes just “little bites” and not big mouthfuls, I am not too worried. Regardless, it is good to know they care!

One of the most dramatic U.S. elections is approaching, and its outcome could bring major policy shifts, triggering significant volatility across financial assets. The U.S. dollar, essential to many economies, may experience heightened fluctuations, impacting global markets. As we near November 5th, traders have the chance to position themselves, especially on currency pairs sensitive to the election results.

In times of volatility, ensure your account is well-funded to manage open positions, as risks could increase.

Assets to Watch: USD, JPY, MXN, Oil, EUR, Gold

Prepare for:

* High volatility on U.S.-based currency pairs and indices
* Reduced liquidity from providers, which may widen spreads and cause potential slippage on orders
* Maintaining sufficient margin/equity, particularly for hedged positions, as spread changes could force stop-outs.
* [My broker] will communicate any changes to trading terms via email or website updates.

Of course, the sky isn’t falling. The broker just wants its account holders to be aware. (As if the endless commercials weren’t enough) Quite probably, some international regulator will need to “check the box” confirming my broker was acting in a responsible way. Since my EFX bot was put on safe mode a couple of days ago, I feel well protected. Having early voted, I just wish I could protect my eyes and ears from the sensory assault to come.
