It was not quite a year ago when I bought my first bot-the EFX Octane bot. It was not bad or unkind to my finances. I became a little irritated with it when there were some technical issues with the VPS and MT4. That irritation caused me to “park” the bot for a few months while I chased dreams with bot providers who have far less conservative approaches.

While that “other providers” bot gave me significant double-digit returns in three months, all those gains disappeared overnight. I am not claiming that the Octane bot has never had a losing month. While my current “instance” of Octane only shows a profit, I believe there was a month in the spring when the bot was tangled in a drawdown. It lost a couple of percent of the account value during that drawdown.
After heavily relying on the other bots during the late spring and early summer, I will take August’s nearly 10% gains from Octane. Yes, the end of the month was slow–so what? The Nurp bots had numerous accounts blown and heart-wrenching drawdowns. Octane spared me all of those concerns. Octane doesn’t do 20% a month, but it won’t have you glued to your monitor during the wee hours of the morning, either. You can rely on Octane to care about the funds you allow it to manage. Other bots would be wise to have the same concerns.
