After the farm was attacked by locusts and assorted vermin, I now just have a small farm. I have hopes to grow it into something bigger again, but the markets have been unkind–VERY unkind.
Within a three week period, both of my NURP bots had issues. The Fed didn’t blow its account, but it thought really hard about it. (Many people accounts did blow.) After this took place, I transferred most of it funds into an inactive bot, Octane. Octane is now my garden.
Sunday night of last week, my farm and my garden had a one on one battle. The farm team, Dalio, kept chasing a losing few Forex pairs. When Dalio hit a drawdown of 35%, it closed all the trades down and started buying all over again. Because I was done with Dalio and because it showed no remorse, I have closed all of my NURP bots entirely. My garden went into drawdown, but it didn’t lose any money. It is all I have left.
I will put enough “plants” in my Octane garden to see how it does. If Octane protects my equity and delivers a modest monthly return (At this point, 4% per month beats a few months of gains followed by a big loss.), I will be happy with my garden. If I chooses to deliver more than that, I won’t complain if it has a slow month either.
I rode the NURP bots along with a couple of bots from University of Options for longer than I should have. If future-sight were 20/20 and I hopped out at the right time, I would not be as unshakably conservative with where my “risky” investments were placed. Now, I give the bots one chance to get a “big” account. If they blow their opportunity, I might let them have a small account to play with for the rest of their natural lives.
