While the original problem with Dalio occurred last Thursday, there are still ongoing problems. (We will talk about the drawdown issues later.) Somehow, the licensing for my copy of Dalio is not updating. If it had just been my copy, NURP would have visited my VPS and quickly resolved the issue. NURP is not saying how many Dalio licenses are affected. I assume they want to keep a lid on the true number to keep Dalio users from panicking. Why would they panic? Drawdown. It is almost always a drawdown.

Dalio was sold as a low drawdown bot. (It is in the name. The upcoming Dalio won’t have “Low DD” in the name.) Somehow, Dalio has decided he wants more of a bad-guy reputation. When I started using “Dalio Low DD,” I was told that a 15% drawdown would be a very safe setting. Dalio has exceeded this drawdown number for the past month.

Back to the hiccup…When Dalio hiccuped last Thursday and rejected my license, all of the martingale-ing sequences were lost. Instead of the bot purchasing lots to make the “Take Profit” price more accessible, I was handed the GBPUSD trades below. Dalio is aware of previous trades, but it “forgets” when it chooses the size of the next lot to purchase. The graphic shows that a “0.34” purchase followed the “1.06” lot purchase. This purchase should have been closer to “2.0”. Once the first “bad” lot purchase was made, it only got worse. Now, I am waiting for NURP to set up the “magic” trade that will prevent me from going broke and will allow the GBPUSD trades to close in profit. (I would settle for not losing much after the hiccup.)
