As my wife and I arrived at the movie theater and found our seats, we had a little time to kill before the movie. The Facebook on my phone was full of the “trading bot” ads. I clicked on one that mentioned a FREE bot, and the dialogue below is what follows:

Maybe this dialogue sounds completely okay to you, but it didn’t to me. After the movie, I made no effort to contact her.

A few months ago, I thought I was being very careful with a company who claimed to have an online way to make money. It involved crypto. After the texting conversation, I realized how I could easily have allowed myself to be compromised financially. While there may be a business model that makes giving away a trading bot a good idea, I can’t think of one. If the bot is being given to you, then maybe it is not worth anything. But, we are all on a different journey to financial freedom.
