FOREX It Is

As previously mentioned, FOREX was not something I ever saw myself doing. After going through some ideas and asking an accountant friend what he thought of the idea, he replied, “You have had other ideas that I understood. But, I must admit, this one caught me completely off guard.” With an endorsement like that, you might have thought I would have chosen a different path. Most of me would fully agree with you. Yet, the $2,000 request from my wife was still a carrot I needed to attain.

As a “semi-retired” but willing to work for the right opportunity type of guy, my initial income exploration was predominantly focused on part-time jobs. I wanted to maintain a flexible schedule while still being able to contribute to our financial well-being. Part-time jobs provided the perfect balance, allowing me to pursue my hobbies (i.e. reading, walking, cooking, traveling, taking care of our hockey boys and attending their games, teaching 3 ESL classes per week, and yard work) while putting some effort into pleasing my wife. With that many hobbies, the opportunity would have to be the right one.

While my previous consulting jobs and operating my own website were great for starting to explore my retirement hobbies early, they were not very helpful in finding that next opportunity. Additionally, after selling my previous company, one of the employees who left shortly after me tried to make me a part of his “new” opportunity. Despite his best efforts and my desire to make it work, it never worked out. So, after our return from the Eastern European trip and a week to shake off the jetlag, my income search finally led me to FOREX.

Yes, this is the FOREX that is synonymous with “day trading”. Who did I choose to take me on this journey and where is it leading? I will bring you along in the next posting. 🙂
